Cannot open books I’ve previously purchased. this would seem to encompass fraud. I dont see how you can call it anything else. I think a class action lawsuit is in order. I’ll look into it and see what the precedent is.

I cannot negatively rate an Inkling for my problem. Apparently this is an Elsevier issue where they changed platforms. Maybe all the poor reviewers should check with their publishers. THAT may be a solution for you as well. Support responded to my email request FAST!!! Led me to an instant solution. Kudos for the reply.

In iOS 18 tried to open chapters in downloaded books. Chapters won’t open.

I am unable to read any of the books I already purchased! Such a waste! Please fix it!

This app is, without hyperbole, garbage. Everyone involved in the creation and design of this app should reevaluate their life choices. I have over 800 dollars worth of texts in this app - not by choice, they were assigned via various schools and training programs - and I can't access a single one. I've reinstalled the app. I've re-downloaded the books. I am stuck at a splash screen that says "X book is ready" but nothing happens when I hit the "start reading" button. Last time this app was updated was 3 years ago, so I doubt any of these issues will be fixed. But if your school gives up a link to an inkling download, please do anything to trade it for something that's actually usable.

The app never worked well. The only reason I have been using it is for one ebook, I got as the digital copy of a one of my textbooks I use in my field. However the app decided to stop loading the ebook pages now all together. I cannot access anything in the book. I now have to reorder the ebook at full cost $75, because this app is soo poorly put together and managed even worse. Avoid this app at all costs, or it’s going to cost you.

I am using this app in my iPad mini 6 but I can’t read anything it shows the menu of start reading but it doesn’t go beyond that

Long ago worked well, but for about a year now despite changing phones, installing/reinstalling the app, redownloading the books, none of the books actually open when you press “Start Reading,” its just a false button that doesnt actually open any book.

The new app is Elsevier E+books. Inkling was bought out.

I cant begin to explain or express my annoyance with this app. So it brings up information that you cannot access. You cannot read any information you can’t pull up any images. Honestly this app was is so frustrating. I was hoping to read and go over things on my phone, and epic fail. This app is beyond frustrating, annoying, was hoping it could be so beneficial in my practice unfortunately a waste of money.

It’s a medical book for school and this app can’t even update to fix its issues

I have been using this app for long time and it was fairly good when I first used it (apart from some annoying issues in photo imaging). Unfortunately, it got worse and worse to the point where I cannot use it at all now. In addition to the many faulty issues that other reviewers pointed out here, now, l cannot even open any e-book I bought and downloaded in my book library! It just says loading when I open any title with empty white page. I deleted the app and reinstalled it but no change. I am very disappointed with this and stopped buying from the store anymore. Now I'm forced to use other apps to buy and download medical books and what's really upsetting is that I cannot read my already purchased books in this app anymore, and they're not cheap books. I was really hoping this app be as professional and efficient as it should be, but unfortunately it drifted away from that path. I still have hope that they can fix it and improve it significantly, soon.

Can’t open books since update, click on start reading but nothing happens

You cannot open any e-book with this app.

No sure why developer has not updated in 2 years.

Part of the purchase price of a new book is the ability to use the code for the e-book. This app is completely non-functional. The start reading button does nothing.

Why do companies still sell their books using your service? I can’t read any of my very expensive textbooks on the go like I had hoped when buying them. Seems like the alternative Inkling app for business accounts has great reviews, is there a reason that no effort or time was put in keeping this app alive?

This app’s functionality used to be great however it delivers short. Most of the books cannot be opened to read. This defeats the purpose of the app

When I first started using this app it was a lifesaver. Easy layout and navigation and good scrolling. Now I'm unable to display any chapters from any books. Just seems to have stopped working one day, and cannot troubleshoot the problem.

Stopped working and lost access to all of my books

Now I can’t read topics. It just has a “Start Reading” button that doesn’t do anything.

The app does not work. Let’s you download the contents but you can not open any chapter. Tried it with all the purchased books. It is a waste of money if your intent is to read books on your iOS device.

I love to download medical books and read them on the go, this app is wonderful and serves it’s purpose, ONLY If You have a physical book and activate the code for the app. The online shop/store feature doesn’t really work, it is impossible to find new books or to buy them. I have partial samples of downloads that I cannot purchase completely for no reason. I guess the company is not interested in sales.

Can only download books, interface is clunky. Only desktop is function. Store is non-functional. App needs major work.

Have hundreds of dollars of medical textbooks that I would like to read on my iPad so I don’t have to carry 100lbs of books with me. This app is awful. Have worked with customer support for weeks trying to make multiple books that I have redeemed pop up into my library. I give up. Don’t waste your time or money on elsevier.

The only reason I have this app is because my medical school books are electronic. Whenever I try to scroll down on a page this app interprets this as scrolling left and right. I waste so much of my time just trying to get this app to do what I want it to and in medical school I literally have no time to waste. If I could use a different app I would. If this is a book specific issue this is still on the app manufacturer to fix; the books they are allowing on their app shows how carefully they consider the use of their product.

Although the app still works and I can access previous books the store is empty. While I applause keeping access an announcement that the app/store is dead should be made.

Every time you open the app at automatically brings you to the beginning of the chapter you were on. It’s an extremely annoying oversight.

How do I get my digital books on another platform? This app is not usable.

In terms of flashcards, I like that they’re interactive; however, their size is rather small and hard to read, not to mention the whole flashcard does not fit in a phone screen, and scrolling to see more is hard. it could improve!

This is TRAVESTY. As many reviewers noted this app is the obsolete garbage. In the year 2022 students and scholars would expect to have a sophisticated ebook reader which would enable them at minimum - to highlights in different colors and styles and would allow for elaborate notes. This app do not offer those features. It is enraging that this is the only option available for ,any classic medical textbooks. Absolute travesty.

This app is only slightly better than having to access my elsevier "ebook" via their website, and neither option is especially practical for graduate students who already have multiple resources, apps, and textbooks to keep up with. The transition between pages is slow and stuttery, there is no dark mode option, there is no text reader option, and general navigation is pretty awful. It seems like a ripoff to any student buying ebooks from elsevier to have the only downloadable format in one of the absolute worst ereader apps available (so I'm glad I just wasted my time buying the textbook in new condition instead of used to get the code for the "ebook"). This is the result of a society more concerned with paywalls and maximizing profits while the student body drowns in debts and half-functional apps that swear to make life easier for us and rarely deliver.

Dark mode would be a welcomed feature for easier reading.

This app is horrible. It doesn’t work.

This app is horrible to work with you can’t share or export the book you bought to any other app like goodnotes or Google Drive. This app does not support Apple Pencil and the highlighting is atrocious at best. Thought this would be the better option to write on since I do digital notes but will just go back to the paper book. Since I own that book and can highlight and write notes anywhere on it.

The book text, images, layout are high quality. However this app seems to lack basic navigation. When I bookmark it puts me at beginning of bookmarked chapter. Each time you want to go back to your page you either scroll through entire chapter to have to try to do a word search to get back to where you are.

I even tried searching the word “the” and apparently Gray’s Anatomy does not have the word “the” in it.

This app has a lot of potential, but it can’t seem to remember where I left off and goes back to the beginning of the section. Even if I bookmark my location it doesn’t save the correct spot. I waste a lot of time trying to figure out where I left off.

Kindly update the app. There is room for more improvement. It’s a very good app.

A learning app designed to help you take notes on books should support the best feature of the iPad for taking notes... the Apple Pencil. Support badly needed, otherwise you’d be better off getting a PDF of the book and making notes in a PDF application.

Just a few days into using this app and I’m already frustrated! First, the page scrolling is atrocious. Sometimes when you get to the bottom of the section it loads the next section fine, other times you have to drag the page 2 or 3 times before it works. I’ve also noticed the when you open up the app it defaults to putting you at the top of the page. When you have to scroll through several textbook pages of text to get to a later section this becomes incredibly inconvenient.

If you e used iBooks or kindle and enjoyed their intuitive interface and functionality, you will not find this here. I’ve clicked page links on accident and instead of a back button or a swipe down to previous content, you must scroll all the way back. Think of going from chapter one to chapter eight and not being able to return to chapter one unless you scroll back (iPad Pro example). Trying to highlight is annoying as it brings up the system menu to copy and share at times and is only available on a single sentence at a time. Read on your desktop or even in your mobile/tablet browser instead.

No underline or text options for notes. The highlight functions usually doesn’t work....Fix it and I will be happy to use it again...userface is not bad.
